CLIENT: PMB PROJECTS

PMB Projects are a professional residential construction and landscaping business based out of Toronto, Ontario.

Their services include external project work such as the design, planning, and construction of decks, fences, ponds, driveways, backyards, sheds as well as interior construction and painting. The main USP that the company have over their competitors is the use of project management methodology to ensure quality assurance in every project.

The business has been in operation for a few years and has experienced steady growth in this time. They already have a website and social media channels and needed to develop a cohesive brand around the PMB Projects name. The first part of this being a professional logo that can be used for the
company website, print media and other branding/promotional purposes.

The idea for the final design to was to produce an identity that was instantly recognisable and fused the natural with the strong and reliable elements of the business together.

COLOURS

The colour palette for the PMB Projects was carefully selected with the earthy green and brown hues having connotations of the natural and hand-crafted aspect of the business. These were juxtaposed with grey tones to represent the strong, reliable construction side of the business.

FONTS

A bold, clear sans-serif font was the choice from the outset of this project. This is the ideal complement to the robust and reliable nature of the craftsmanship and reliability of the service PMB offers.

Metropolis was chosen as the main font for PMB. This font works extremely well in a bold weight, so was an ideal choice for the logotype. It also offers the benefit of having a number of different weights and therefore is very flexible for a variety of media too.

LOGO EXPLANATION

The logo was created with all of the elements of the creative brief in mind. The colour palette and typeface were carefully selected for their ties to the industry and the connotations that the brand wants to be known for – nature, earth, strength and reliability.

The logo mark (symbol) has the home at its core – an immediately recognisable icon to represent the business and its services.

LOGO VARIANTS

A modular logo was devised to provide flexibility to the design and be applicable for a variety of uses. The mark and type can be used on their own or can be used in conjunction, arranged in either horizontal or vertical layout.
