How To Take Payments On Your Website Featured Image

Have you ever considered taking payments on your website, but thought it would be too complicated or expensive to set up?

If you’re looking to take payments for single products on your website and you don’t need the full e-commerce functionality, I’ll show you that it’s incredibly easy to do using Stripe and something called Payment Links.

I’ve been using Stripe a lot recently and I’ve been blown away by how easy and powerful it is. Stripe is a fantastic payment processor that powers a huge number of websites online. Once you start using it, you’ll notice it everywhere. It’s an extremely secure and leading platform, ensuring all payments are safe.

To set up Payment Links, all you need is a website. You don’t need a separate e-commerce platform like WooCommerce if you’re only selling single products. Setting up Stripe is quick and requires no technical knowledge – just fill out a simple form, which takes under 10 minutes.

Here are some instructions on how to register your Stripe account: Get Started With Stripe

Once you’ve filled out the form and your bank account is linked, you’re ready to create your Payment Links.

Log into Stripe and look for Payments, then Payment Links in the left-hand side menu.

That’s all there is to it. You’ve now got a link that you can add to your website to take payments. The easiest way is to create a Buy Now button on your site and link this address to the button.

There are loads of examples where this could be helpful. For instance, you might be a service provider selling a guide or a course. Stripe also offers other powerful features like discount codes for sales events like Black Friday, free trials, and subscriptions – all manageable from your dashboard without any coding.

It’s worth saying that this feature doesn’t offer a full e-commerce shopping cart facility a la Amazon. If you need this type of functionality, you’ll need an e-commerce platform like WooCommerce or Shopify.

But if you’re just looking to set up a link to sell a single product on your website, Payment Links in Stripe is an unbeatable option.
