A simple way to create professional social media videos

We all know that video content is one of the best ways to get noticed on social media. But creating polished videos can be a real time sink, especially if you’re trying to do everything yourself and you’re not a video editing pro (which I’m certainly not)!

Recently, I’ve been using a tool called Flexclip and it’s made the process a whole lot easier.

Full disclosure here – the guys at Flexclip reached out to me, asking for me to try their product and to share what I thought. I’m not getting paid for this article, so this is my honest review.

Why I’ve started using Flexclip

To give you a bit of context: I’ve tried a few tools for video. Canva is great for simple animations and basic video posts. CapCut is brilliant if you want slightly more advanced editing features but it can sometimes be a bit technical and time-consuming, especially for someone who just wants to get a video out the door super quick. And Premier Pro or DaVinci Resolve are another level above that.

Flexclip feels like it sits somewhere in the middle. It’s got a user-friendly interface, but it also has enough depth to make professional looking content. Ideal for small businesses, freelancers, or marketing teams that need to produce good content quickly.

What I like about it

I’ve been using Flexclip for a few weeks now. Here’s what’s stood out for me so far:

The templates make creating new content much faster

Flexclip has a great range of templates tailored for different types of social media content. Whether you’re putting together a promo, an Instagram reel, or a YouTube intro, it’s quick to get started.

The library isn’t as big as Canva’s just yet, but it’s growing and there’s already plenty to get you started.

There’s some killer AI tools built in

The AI subtitle generator is great and it’s one of the main tolls I use. Subtitles are one of those things we all know we should be doing (especially with people watching on mute), but they’re easy to forget or put off. Flexclip makes it really simple to auto-generate and style the fonts and colours to match your brand.

There are also some handy AI content creation tools built in, like text-to-image and image-to-image generators. The image-to-image feature is surprisingly good for creative content: think cartoon-style effects or turning a photo into something that looks like an action figure like we’ve all seen everywhere recently.

And if you’re stuck for video content, you can even try text-to-video or image-to-video tools, which help you quickly build a video around a concept without needing to shoot footage yourself.

I needed a video for a hero area of a new website I’m working on. I uploaded a stock photo of a London skyline and with a short prompt, it managed to generate a drone style video over the city. Pretty clever stuff. The results aren’t always perfect, sometimes with some artifacts in the video, but they’re good and only going to get better.

Is it perfect? Not quite.

To keep this balanced, it’s worth saying that Flexclip might not be the right tool if you need full control over advanced transitions, motion graphics, or complex edits. For those kinds of jobs, something like Adobe Premiere Pro or even CapCut will give you more options. But for 90% of the social content I need to create, Flexclip more than does the job and it does it fast.

My final thoughts

If you’re looking for a way to create social media videos that look good, don’t take hours to make, and don’t require a steep learning curve, Flexclip is definitely worth a try. After all, they have a free version, so you can see what it’s like for yourself.

It won’t replace high-end video tools if you’re doing full production work but for everyday content, it hits a really nice sweet spot.

Let me know if you’ve tried Flexclip or if you have other video tools you swear by. I’m always on the lookout for new tools that make life easier.
